CREEK Street Christian College has welcomed the opening of a new two-storey multi-purpose facility for International Baccalaureate studies, in no small part thanks to a $2.5 million investment by the State Government.

The school was also able to contribute $625,000 towards the project.

The building consists of five learning areas, a student common area, a lift, plus amenities, two staff offices, two study areas, storage areas and a locker shelter structure.

Ms Edwards said the new building was already being well utilised by the school community.

“It’s fantastic that Creek Street Christian College now has a dedicated learning space for International Baccalaureate studies, to ensure they can continue to grow and respond to student needs. The school community and school council were great advocates for this,” she said.

“This project was important to ensure that students and families have modern facilities for a world-class education. “Congratulations to staff and students for their cooperation throughout the build – and thank you to all of the contractors for their brilliant work.”

The lead builder on the project was G.A. & P.A. Pilcher Building Contractors, with Plans for People Architects contributing the design.

Since 2014, the State Government has invested $12.8 billion in building new schools and more than 1,850 school upgrades.

The International Baccalaureate is a globally recognized educational program that offers a curriculum for students between the ages of 3 and 19.

Its Diploma Programme is a two-year curriculum that culminates in exams recognised by universities worldwide.
