New and improved shopping experience
ROAD and building construction works are well underway at Epsom Village Shopping Centre.
Contractors have ripped up sections of road and are completing resealing works to make the road safer for driving, after several complaints from community members, while new buildings for retail are being built.
“We understand that road works can be inconvenient, but we are pleased to announce that we’re addressing the safety concerns at the intersection of Howard Street and Midland Highway in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo,” said National Retail Group director Michael Spektor.
“These urgently needed safety upgrades and long-awaited improvements will enhance your shopping and dining experience at Epsom Village, making the wait worthwhile.”
In January, the shopping centre had a planning permit amendment approved by the City of Greater Bendigo for the developer, National Retail Group, to do work on the corner of the Epsom Village facing the Howard Street-Midland Highway intersection.
Prior to the acquisition of the permit, the planning process took about 12 months, and once acquired, one of the conditions was that the works must be completed within about five years.
Retailers soon to move in, such as Carls Jr and Dan Murphy’s, are only allowed to occupy the new spaces when the roadworks are completed.
