New CEO to join Bendigo Health

A NEW head of day-today operations at Bendigo Health has been announced with Eileen Hannagan to step into the CEO role in October.

Current CEO Peter Faulkner will remain in the position until Ms Hannagan take up the role.

Mr Faulkner oversaw the $60 million refurbishment of the old hospital, construction of a new hydrotherapy pool, and upgrades to the residential care facilities.

Chair of Bendigo Health, Dr Ewa Pijeko, said the organisation was looking forward to welcoming Ms Hannagan and her dedication and leadership qualities had stood out to the board.

“Ms Hannagan is deeply committed to patient advocacy and believes in empowering individuals to actively participate in their healthcare journey,” Dr Pijeko said.

“She has championed initiatives to improve access to quality healthcare services, reduce treatment disparities and enhance the overall patient experience.

“Her compassionate approach and unwavering dedication to patient care and staff well-being, have earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues, patients, and healthcare professionals alike.”

Dr Pijeko said Ms Hannagan’s ability to work with stakeholders was also aligned with Bendigo Health’s aims for increased collaboration and growth throughout the region.

Ms Hannagan is a registered nurse who is coming to Bendigo after a period as CEO of Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.
