New employee shines at donut shop

WALKER’S Doughnuts has taken on their newest employee last week.

Kyle, a participant of CVGT Australia’s Disability Employment Services program will gain valuable skills while working in a fun work environment.

“It’s a good place,” Kyle said. “I enjoy the people and I’m enjoying working and making donuts.”

Store owner Adam Parsons said Kyle has been an exemplary employee and a valuable team member.

Mr Parsons commended Kyle on his ability to learn how the business works and said, “he really hit the ground running, straight from day one.”

“He always has fun and enjoys the work. He’s always got an amount of jobs he needs to get done in a certain amount of time, and he always gets it done – no fuss at all,” he said.

Joining the team at Walker’s Doughnuts isn’t all work for Kyle and his colleagues as having fun on the job is important in work environment Mr Parson said.

“We have a little sing and a dance. I might be a better singer, but he’s definitely got me when it comes to dancing,” he said.

CVGT Australia consultant Lorinne said she is pleased to see how well Kyle has done at his new job.

“This role has given Kyle the opportunity to grow into a more confident person and valued member of a team in a very fast-paced environment,” she said.

“He enjoys going to work and has a great laugh with the other members. He’s become a more confident communicator, an independent and happy person.”
