One Nation candidate wants COVID answers
BEN Mihail, the One Nation candidate for the Federal seat of Bendigo, has outlined his key issues for the upcoming election.
A central Victorian resident for 30 years, Mr Mihail lives in Bendigo with his wife and two children, working as a triple zero dispatcher.
He said he was motivated to run for parliament as he has grown frustrated with Bendigo being a “safe Labor seat” that has struggled to see any “serious Federal funding.”
“The way to rectify the situation is to either flip Bendigo to another party, and I’d suggest One Nation, or at least turn the seat marginal,” he said.
“That’s where you need a strong candidate to rival the incumbent and that’s where I come in.”
Mr Mihail outlined three key policies important to him, including ending the COVID-19 pandemic declaration, increasing local manufacturing, and removing any affiliations or agreements “that are not in the best interest of Australia”, including the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset.
He said he is pushing for a royal commission into the COVID-19 response and decisions made around vaccine mandates and restrictions, something he said has been raised by locals.
“I’ve spoken to so many people in Bendigo and surrounding areas who have been terminated from their positions because they have refused to take this trial vaccination,” he said.
“I know people are going to point to the fact that mandates are a state issue and yes they are, but it’s also important for the Federal Government because they’ve been inactive in this, they need to step up.”
The candidate said he is also pushing for an increase to the age pension for older Australians living below the poverty line.
