Puppy pool days a splash hit

 GOLDEN Square Swimming Pool’s season finished up in adorable fashion on the weekend with their second annual Pool for Paws day taking place.

The event was a success, with both days booked out well before the weekend rolled around said pool volunteer Linda Howell.

“It booked out on Thursday,” she said. “We did the two days this year, so we have triple the number of dogs coming compared to last year, but we still completely booked out.”

Ms Howell said the dogs had been well-behaved and it was a good way to finish up the season.

“It’s amazing, everyone is having a great time, and the dogs are having a great time,” she said.

“The dogs have been really good and really friendly. The pool has literally gone to the dogs now though.”

Dog owner Vince took part in the inaugural day last season and said he is a fan of the event.

“Love the idea, we also came last year,” he said. “We had four of our dogs here today, so we did two sessions of two dogs.

“We will be back next year and the year after that, as long as the pool keeps opening, we will keep coming.”
