Rewards on offer for local shoppers

IF you’re around the traps in the next few weeks imbibing a bevvy, browsing antiques, purchasing a blouse or picking up some organic fruit and veg, chances are you’ll have unknowingly stumbled upon the chance to win!

That’s because the City of Greater Bendigo has just launched its Love Your Local Christmas Giveaway 2025, allowing residents the opportunity to take home one of 14 $100 vouchers or a $500 jackpot by scanning in-store QR codes at more than 250 participating local businesses.

Mayor Cr Thomas Prince said he was delighted to launch the giveaway with an aim to support the city’s small business community and keep money in Bendigo.

“It’s the countdown to Christmas and everything you need for a magical Christmas can be found right here in Greater Bendigo,” he said.

“We have passionate retailers, producers, makers, suppliers, cafes, restaurants, hotels and unique attractions that bring vibrancy and activity to (our) precincts, suburbs and small towns.

“When you love your local, it means much more than ticking off your Christmas shopping list.

“You’re helping businesses to grow, retain and create jobs, which is great for the community and it keeps more spending in Greater Bendigo, which is a lasting gift worth giving.

“The Love Your Local Christmas Giveaway is a win-win – residents get the chance to win fantastic prizes while discovering the amazing variety of businesses right here in Greater Bendigo.

“I’m delighted that so many businesses are excited to get involved and I thank them for their fantastic enthusiasm and getting behind this campaign.”

It isn’t too late for businesses to participate in the Christmas Giveaway. Businesses can complete a short application on the City’s website.
