Santa to set up shop in Hargreaves Mall
HARGREAVES Mall is about to be taken over by special visitors from the North Pole and beyond.
Starting from tomorrow a range of free performances and activities will be on offer for the Christmas and school holiday period.
City of Greater Bendigo mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf was the mall last week to meet some of the performers, and said there would be something for everyone.
“Families will have a great time at these fantastic free events,” she said.
“We’ve had very positive feedback from families who have really enjoyed our school holiday activities in Hargreaves Mall, and we’ve experienced strong turn outs for events.”
Visitors to the mall can enjoy performances and interactive music sessions from Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Pals, as well as the Christmas Elves from Connected Circus.
For hands-on fun keep an eye out for Christmas colouring and art demonstrations, but if that doesn’t excite then catch one of the Christmas movies playing on the big screen.
“With a variety of fun activities during the holiday season, we’ve got lots of ways to entertain families so please visit our Explore Bendigo website so you can plan,” Cr Metcalf said.
“Perhaps combine some family fun in the mall with some Christmas shopping in the city centre.
“This is a great opportunity to support our local businesses where your Christmas dollars are going back into supporting the local community this festive season.”
The activities will continue after Christmas with events like Safe Archery and a LEGO pop-up from the Bendigo Lego User Group scheduled for January.
