WORKS are underway at White Hills Primary school to improve the students’ amenities.

On Monday, Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan announced State Government funding to deliver new and improved toilets at the school.

The project, worth $70,412, is set to improve the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the facilities and provide a big update to the education facility overall.

Ms Allan said the funding is part of the $4.6 million set aside for White Hills Primary School included in the 2019-20 State budget, which also includes plans for works to upgrade and modernise old classrooms and facilities.

“We’re making sure that our schools have the best facilities, our classrooms have the best teachers and that every child is given every chance to succeed,” she said.

“White Hills families are a step closer to getting the great local school facilities their kids need to thrive.”

The works at White Hills Primary are form the continuation of the State Government’s capital upgrades in schools, with $10.9 billion invested in new facilities and 1700 upgrades across Victoria.

The Minor Capital Works fund is being delivered progressively, with a goal of completing all small projects that make a big difference by the end of 2022.

The 2021-22 State budget, announced last month, has set aside $20 million in this fund.
