A TWO-pronged opportunity to not only own an almost 125-year-old item of local significance but to help raise funds for the Bendigo Health Foundation was presented at Bendigo Tramways Workshop on Tuesday.

The objects in question are 300 mounted sections of original 1903 Pall Mall tram track, which have been transformed into limited collector pieces.

Carefully removed from the thoroughfare in November 2025 as part of renewal works, the track sections have been refurbished and reimagined as collectable Tracks for Care keepsakes.

Priced at $299 a pop, their rejuvenation offers an exclusive opportunity for collectors, locals and supporters alike to own a tangible link to Bendigo’s past.

Every purchase directly supports the Bendigo Health Foundation and includes a handcrafted timber mounting base by the Bendigo Woodturners, a plaque from Breach Apparel, a certificate of authenticity supplied by Bart ‘n Print and free delivery within Australia by Power’s Country Express.

Bendigo Health Foundation’s director of fundraising Shaun Spence said the Tracks for Care initiative is a community-driven project and another example of the generosity of the people and businesses of Bendigo.

“We are privileged to be the beneficiary of Tracks for Care, which will directly improve healthcare access and patient experience for people across our region,” he said.

Bendigo Heritage CEO James Reade said he is proud of the initiative which supports the vital work of Bendigo Health.

“[It is] giving collectors the opportunity to own a piece of history that is truly specific to Bendigo,” he said.
