THIS Kings Birthday long weekend Heathcote on Show is inviting visitors to the district to “explore, taste and enjoy.”

Attendees from near and far can sample wine and spirits, eat gourmet food, and listen to live music at more than 25 locations across the region.

Heathcote Tourism and Development president Peter Young said there were several new experiences on offer this year.

“We have, for example, an olive grove, Apulia olives, they’ve opened up and they will be accepting visitors,” he said.

“I think it’s broadening out from something that’s just about wine to other things that people are doing.

“It’s nice to see we’ve got people investing in Heathcote and opening up new facilities and places for people to go.”

Mr Young said the festival bus service would make getting around much easier.

“I think it’s going to be a really important part of Heathcote on Show going forward,” he said.

“I really encourage people to hop on the bus, it’s 40 bucks for the day and you can go to all these different places, and you can taste all the wines for free.”

“It’s a great experience, there’ll be bands playing, things to eat as well as drink, I think it’s going to be the best ever.”
