Spirit confirm new sponsor
THE Bendigo Spirit have announced a new major sponsor with pharmacy retailer Chemist Warehouse signing on for a multi-year deal.
The agreement will see the Chemist Warehouse logo displayed on Spirit’s training, playing and casual gear for the next three seasons.
Bendigo Spirit general manager of operations David Ingham said the team was excited to have the pharmacy chain on board.
“The entire team is excited to have the ongoing support from such a fantastic organisation as Chemist Warehouse,” he said. “This partnership will help us achieve our goals on and off the court.
Chemist Warehouse has had a presence in Bendigo since opening a store on Mitchell Street more than 15 years ago.
Company director Mario Tascone said he was proud to now sponsor one of the region’s elite sporting outfits.
“We are thrilled to be working alongside the talented Bendigo Spirit team over the next three years,” he said.
“We will be engaging with fans from the Bendigo region over the coming seasons with exciting activations and promotions.
“At Chemist Warehouse we are passionate about health, well-being and fitness, it’s in our DNA and we cannot wait to kick off our partnership with the Bendigo Spirit.”
Mr Tascone said the company wants to help promote women’s sport in Australia.
“We are committed to supporting women’s sport from grassroots right through to an elite level like the WNBL,” he said.
The official unveiling of the partnership took place at the Spirit’s final home game of the season.
