State grants for school repairs
MORE maintenance works are about to be underway at two area schools with Bendigo Primary and Harcourt Valley Primary have both receiving funding from the State Government for repairs.
Bendigo Primary School received $180,000 in planned maintenance program funding which will go towards high priority works including gutter, draining, wall and roof repairs.
Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards said over $27 million of PMP funding has already been provided to 357 schools since last year.
“Our record investment in school infrastructure is delivering high quality classrooms for our hard-working principals, teachers and staff, as well as students and families,” she said.
“Our Planned Maintenance Program is about ensuring that every Bendigo school is well maintained and safe to provide the best possible environment for students to learn in.”
Meanwhile Harcourt Valley Primary received $15,120 which will go towards repairing the school’s main building.
Ms Edwards said the State Government is committed to investing in schools, with $9 billion granted for than 1600 school upgrades across the state.
“Every student should have a great school, no matter where they live,” she said. “That’s why we’re investing in hundreds of small but important projects that will make a big difference for schools and create jobs for Victorians.”
