Substantial grants available to develop future leaders

APPLICATIONS for grants of between $24,000 and $56,000 are now open as part of the Victorian Government’s Future Ready 2025-2026 program.

The grants are available for government secondary schools, not-for-profit organisations, Aboriginal entities and social enterprises to work with students across the state to help them become involved in their communities.

They’re applicable to a wide variety of activities such as mentoring and training, work placement and volunteering, as well as leadership and learning opportunities.

Funding can be used for various reasons including to cover transport costs for students, such as those living in rural and regional areas who would otherwise face financial barriers in taking part.

Previous participants in the program include Werrimull P-12 School, which is located in the Rural City of Mildura, where students took part in a trip to Adelaide, a leadership camp and a visit to the Grampians National Park.

Students from the school who travelled as part of the group helped to plan and lead the tour.

Minister for Youth Natalie Suleyman said the program is one of the ways the State Government continues to support young Victorians to provide them with the opportunities they need to reach their potential.

“I encourage eligible secondary schools and organisations to apply for funding in this program to support activities that will make a lasting impact in the lives of Victorian students,” she said.

Applications are open until 29 November.
