BENDIGO Telco has acquired two central Victorian technology businesses, which managing director Kevin Dole said is a strategic move for the local tech firm.

MGR Information Technology and Hitech ICT, both service providers of MGR Advisory, were recently taken over by the telecommunications company as it looks to expand its services.

Hitech ICT provides voice and data services, while MGR-IT works in the IT advisory, sales and consulting service space. Both organisations have operated in central Victoria for over 30 years.

“We believe we will be a stronger and more effective organisation together; and have confidence that we can leverage MGR and Hitech’s people, systems and processes to provide high quality services to our customers,” Mr Dole said.

“Bendigo Telco has been undergoing a period of growth and transformation over the past couple of years, and we were looking to strengthen our IT offering to compliment the other telecommunications and technology related services we provide.

“With the acquisition of these two longstanding businesses, we will add more expertise to our teams, as well as 200 extra customers and 18 additional staff.”

Bendigo Telco operates five offices in Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, Hobart and Launceston and supports community enterprises across Victoria and Tasmania.

“Going forward, our goals and purpose remain unchanged,” Mr Dole said.

“Our intent has always been to help communities thrive by ensuring they have access to services that help productivity, like great phone and internet, and increasingly technology and IT services too.

“We aspire to be our customers’ preferred technology provider and will continue to invest in our current service lines while exploring additional future services.”
