THOSE currently considering changing professions or advancing their career by returning to study might be interested in an information session being co-hosted by La Trobe University, Bendigo TAFE and the Skills and Jobs Centre Bendigo from 11am to 2pm on Saturday in the Rosalind Park Piazza.
Representatives from both institutions as well as Skills and Jobs Centre staff will be available to answer questions on Saturday 11 October about what it’s like to study in Bendigo and the courses and pathway options available.
For example, La Trobe University Bendigo offers several mature age/non-school leaver pathways including a work recognition program and its Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test.
It also offers a Tertiary Preparation Program and recognises other qualifications such as TAFE courses and Diplomas too.
Meanwhile, many courses at Bendigo TAFE don’t require an ATAR and there’s options available including part-time study, flexible scheduling and in some situations online or blended formats.
Additionally, it has a learning support team and for university hopefuls offers courses and pathways that link to university programs.
Friends and family are also welcome to attend and enjoy live music and a free sausage sizzle.
