A NEW celebration of Victorian food, culture and community will settle the score on the state’s best pie, bánh mì and potato cake.

The Vic’s Picks initiative, launched by the State Government, provides Victorians with a chance to vote for their favourite from each category, and the winner will be named Victoria’s pick.

The awards aim to highlight small businesses including country bakeries, suburban fish and chip shops and family-run Vietnamese bakeries.

“Vic’s Picks is about celebrating the people, businesses and traditions that make our state proud – and giving every Victorian the chance to have their say,” Premier Jacinta Allan said.

“Whether it’s your local bakery, a family-run bánh mì store or the neighbourhood fish and chip shop – this is about backing the small businesses that make our communities stronger.”

Voting closes on Sunday 19 October and can be completed at bit.ly/vics-picks-vote.
