A NEW Elvis experience will soon be on offer for locals and tourists, as rock’n’roll fever makes its way to Bendigo Tramways.

From Saturday, 19 March to Saturday, 16 July the Shake, Rattle and Roll Tram will take to the tracks every Saturday night, offering visitors a chance to sing and drink as they ride through town.

The new tram is a collaboration between Bendigo Heritage Attractions and Nimbus Rooftop Bar, with skilled bartenders on hand to serve up cocktails, beer, wine and cider.

Bendigo Heritage Attractions CEO James Reade said he is keen to offer something different coinciding with Bendigo Art Gallery’s Elvis: Direct from Graceland exhibition.

“We’re excited to be showcasing our heritage trams through this unique experience and are really looking forward to introducing an evening product which is all about having fun and enjoying time with friends and family,” he said.

The tram will run twice from 5pm and 7.30pm every Saturday evening for one and a half hours, starting from the Charing Cross/ Alexandrea Fountain Tram Stop.

Bendigo Heritage Attractions hopes the experience will add to an itinerary of things to do across town, with visitors encouraged to also make the most of restaurants located near the tramline.

Tickets cost $40, with the price including one drink. For tickets head to bendigotramways.com.
