VEGETARIAN and vegan dishes will be on the menu when The Great Stupa hosts its Vegecareian Festival this Saturday.

The free event at the Myers Flat property is being billed as the ultimate veggie celebration with food, fun and furry friends.

Family pets are welcome to attend with their owners.

Best wishes: Pets can be blessed by a Buddhist monk or nun inside The Great Stupa.

Participants can learn how vegetarianism has developed in other communities, watch cooking demonstrations and sample dishes from around the globe.

They will also be able to learn about the health benefits of a vegetarian diet, while pets will be able to be blessed by a Buddhist monk or a nun inside The Great Stupa.

Tastes: Festival attendees will be able to learn about the benefits of a vegetarian diet.

Market stalls and food vendors will be operating throughout the festival, with live music from at least three performers also on the bill.

The Peace Park Stage will host cooking demonstrations and a seminar on living with wildlife, and the Wellness Zone will offer Tai Chi classes, a Bollywood dance class and workshop, a yoga class and a sound bath experience.

Headliners are Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis, and MasterChef Australia’s Diana Chan and Dee Williams.

Georgiadis’ Garden Yarn session will take place at 1pm, Chan’s cooking demonstration will be at 12pm, and Williams’ cooking demonstration is scheduled for 11.15am.

A Kids Zone will feature circus and craft activities, face painting and bubble fun. The festival will run from 10am to 3pm.
