Victorian bushfire appeal open for donations
THE Victorian Government has launched its own appeal for those affected by the state’s bushfires.
Money will be used to fund immediate assistance and community-identified projects.
The state and federal governments have also announced a range of measures to aid residents and communities.
Member for Eureka Michaela Settle, whose electorate experienced fires throughout this month, said her heart was with those impacted.
“I want to sincerely thank our CFA volunteers and SES crews who have been there day and night, protecting communities and supporting people at their worst moments,” she said.
“The support being made available will help people get through the immediate aftermath, from practical household help and financial advice to support for council, so communities can begin the long work of rebuilding.”
In a statement, Premier Jacinta Allan said: “These fires have devastated communities across Victoria – and we’re delivering more support to help people rebuild their lives and livelihoods.”
Donations can be made at vic.gov.au/2026-Victorian-Bushfire-Appeal or by phone on 1800 837 773.
Emergency relief payments are available for eligible Victorians who had homes destroyed by the fires and had to evacuate because of emergency warnings.

Almost $12 million will be available to bushfire-affected councils to restore assets and services, and $4 million will also fund financial counselling for impacted communities.
Meanwhile, a combined total of $15 million from governments is set to fund support staff and dedicated hubs across bushfire-affected areas.
Community recovery officers will work with councils to identify needs, while hubs will offer access to government and community organisations.
In further support measures, $16 million has been announced to aid households with extended power outages.

And $40 million has initially been allocated in grants for affected primary producers for their clean-up and reopening needs.
Eligible producers will be provided with up to $75,000.
The state and federal governments will also provide $10 million in concessional loans to assist primary producers.
