THE Kangaroo Flat Community Fun Day will make its return to the local primary school this Sunday for an afternoon filled with entertainment.

The jam-packed free event will cater to the young and young at heart with a climbing wall, arts and crafts, a raffle and a sausage sizzle just some of the planned events.

Coordinator of one of the main organisers Kangaroo Flat Community House, Meredith Robinson, said she was excited to bring the event back to the community after last year’s cancellations.

“It’s absolutely fabulous to be able to offer it again to the community because of the fact that it is a free event and it’s something that the community can really come together at after the year that we’ve all had last year,” she said.

“It’s just wonderful to run it again and I’m really looking forward to hearing and seeing all of the happy people there on the day having a wonderful time as they usually do.”

This year’s event will look a little different to previous ones and Ms Robinson said COVIDSafe rules meant a slight change of location from the school’s gymnasium was needed.

“For this year to enable us to have as many people as we can we’ve actually moved it to the grounds of the Kangaroo Flat Primary School,” she said.

“We are allowed to have quite a number of people on site.”

Ms Robinson said around 850 people are expected to attend the 23 May event from 12pm to 3pm and bookings are essential. To get your free ticket visit bit.ly/2RjNccw.
