THIS Saturday, White Night returns with a night of culture, art and music planned for the city centre.

From 7pm to 1am, projections, installations, live performances and street food will take over spaces from the La Trobe Art Institute to the Golden Dragon Museum.

A welcome to country and smoking ceremony starts the program at Rosalind Park, where there is a Faces of Djaara projection reflecting local traditional owners.

Also at Rosalind Park is a neon archway, with glowing neon dogs filling the space.

A giant 10-metre-long puppet called The Guardian will be roaming the streets, while drag artists like Art Simone will dance atop the cabaret tram.

The heritage sounds tram will be playing big brass tunes and celebrity host Andy Trieu will be spinning tracks at the Golden Dragon DJ Stage.

Music lovers can catch local bands on the back of a vintage Dodge, as well as on the steps of the Capital Theatre and dance fanatics can learn all different styles from a stage at Pall Mall.

Plenty more artworks and projections will be on display throughout the CBD.

Extra public transport services are available including V/Line coach services and city bus routes.
