THE Bendigo Evening VIEW Club is on the lookout for new members who have a drive for giving back to the community and want to connect with other women.

VIEW has over 250 clubs across Australia with around 14,000 members and supports children’s education charity The Smith Family.

After COVID-19 halted most social events over the last few years, Bendigo club president Deidre McDougall said now is the perfect time to join her group.

“We have had so much fun organising upcoming events for our club this year,” she said. “This includes a trip to Hobart for the national convention.

“These always feature fabulous dinners and speakers and are a great way to hear about how we help children and young people through The Smith Family.”

Ms McDougall said the need to support children and their families is as important now as it has ever been.

“We have all been hit by the rising cost of living, be it power prices, food, or petrol,” she said. “But these rises have had an even greater impact on those already doing it tough.

“Parents shouldn’t have to choose between putting dinner on the table or buying their child a uniform for school.

“This is why it is so important that we can help children experiencing disadvantage with their education.”

Anyone interested in becoming a member or wanting to find out more are welcome to attend meetings or can visit the group’s website at view.org.au.

The next Bendigo Evening VIEW club meeting is set for Wednesday, 22 March at the Lakeside Hotel from 6pm.
