VISITORS to the Bendigo Women’s Health Clinic in Lucan Street are now able to benefit from access to a new dedicated women’s health GP, a new menopause clinic and a new specialised pelvic floor clinic.

The additional services have been funded as part of the state government’s four-year, $153.9 million Women’s Health Package, which was announced during the 2022 Victorian election campaign.

Bendigo is one of 20 women’s health clinics backed by the landmark package.

Since opening in late 2025, it has supported local women with free specialist services including gynaecology, colposcopy, cervical screenings, contraception, menopause and abortion care.

According to the state government, every girl and woman deserves access to care regardless of their background or circumstances, gender equality drives better health outcomes, and healthcare should be a right, not a privilege.

“This is about making it easier for Bendigo women to book an appointment and get the health information they need close to home,” Bendigo West MP Maree Edwards said.

Minister for Health Harriet Shing said the package is about “high-quality accessible care designed for women and delivered in their communities”.

“From the middle of Melbourne to the edges of our state we’re building a healthcare system that works for all Victorian women,” she said.

To access the clinic, prospective patients will need a referral from their GP, which will be reviewed by the centre’s consulting team and categorised according to urgency.
