MELBOURNE agribusiness Fox & Lillie Rural (FLR) has opened its latest wool store in Bellholme Road Goornong, approximately thirty kilometres north west of Bendigo.

The new store expands on the family-owned business’ operations in the region, offering a range of direct wool buying, broking and wool marketing options, plus Australian Wool Testing Authority and direct to export/shipping services.

Other provisions include wool storage, quick turnaround from shed to auction, tendering, private trade and store door buying with prompt payment and on-farm pickup.

FLR regional brokerage manager Alister Carr said the strength of the new store will be its focus on growers and “keeping it local.”

“We work to provide the best services and advice that support our regional clients and improves their bottom line,” he said.

“FLR also (has) a strong focus on supporting local communities. We employ local staff, use local suppliers where possible and sponsor many local events and clubs.”

The Bendigo wool store will also provide access to Fox & Lillie Group’s full Agri Services offering.

This includes livestock and property services and strong connections to Fox & Lillie, the company’s wool trading, exporting, and early-stage processing business.

Mr Carr said the vertical integration with Fox & Lillie means woolgrowers can connect directly with international wool users, providing important selling advantages and comprehensive market information.

“We’re very excited that our Bendigo wool store is now operational and I look forward to working with wool growers in the region to deliver healthy returns and marketing opportunities for their enterprises,” he added.
