YO Bendigo youth program HQ poised for move

THE City of Greater Bendigo’s YO Bendigo youth program will relocate to new premises at 41 Mundy Street this month, a few doors down from its existing location at 45 Mundy Street.

During the move, YO Bendigo will be closed between Monday 22 September and Friday 26 September and will reopen on Monday 29 September, at the new premises above the Old Green Bean Café on the corner of Mundy Street and Lyttleton Terrace, just across the road from the City’s offices in the Galkangu Gov Hub.

City of Greater Bendigo director healthy communities and environments Jess Howard said in 2024, YMCA Victoria gave notice that the City’s lease at 45 Mundy Street would not be renewed when it expires in October 2025.

“Fortunately, we have successfully secured new premises for YO Bendigo on the second floor of 41 Mundy Street,” she said.

“The new premises feature lift and stair access, meeting and activity rooms, kitchenette and toilet facilities.

“While the move to the new office location will result in some minor program disruption and some small changes to the existing service offerings, it does present exciting opportunities for new ways of working for the YO Bendigo team.

“Young people from diverse backgrounds participate in YO Bendigo’s programs and are welcomed into a safe, inclusive youth space.

“The new premises will also be home to the City’s Youth Council.

“The City is looking forward to an exciting new chapter for YO Bendigo when the move takes place later this month.”
