A renovated bluestone church has led the local charge at the recent HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards.

A restored one-hundred and forty-four-year-old church converted into dwellings, professional builders who excel in customer service, a stately townhouse development and a home selected by the Australian public were the Victorian winners recognised at the 2021 HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards.

Martin Builders won Renovation / Addition Project for innovatively transforming a 144-year-old bluestone church and parish hall into a series of new residences.

Latitude 37 was named the Medium Builder / Renovator for their customer-centric culture and commitment to building high-quality luxury homes with transparency and integrity.

Carlisle Homes was named the Major Builder for their dedication to building quality, affordable housing with industry leading customer service.

Other winners included Glenneagles Homes won Townhouse / Villa Development for a stately townhouse development which draws inspiration from a classic French manor, while  Sheridan Building Services took the honour of being Australia’s favourite consumer-voted property after being named the CSR Australian People’s Choice Home.

HIA Managing Director Graham Wolfe said the Australian Housing Awards recognise the best in Australia’s residential building industry.

“HIA is committed to recognising the outstanding achievements of our members,” he said.

“HIA Awards allow us to acknowledge the skill of our members who excel in building exceptional homes, kitchens and bathrooms and run highly successful businesses.

“The workmanship of Award winners is exceptional; demonstrated in projects that push the boundaries in design and innovation. It is my absolute pleasure to congratulate each winner for their hard work and commitment to excellence.

“My congratulations also goes to our future tradespeople – our apprentices – who strive to be the best in all their pursuits. And to the professional builders and business partners who are ahead of the game in customer service, design and innovation, building quality and business practices.”

HIA’s Victorian Executive Director, Fiona Nield also extended her congratulations to all the Victorian award winners.

“We are thrilled to see such wonderful recognition of our members who have created these amazing homes.”
