Victorian Seniors Festival

Public transport is free for Victorian Seniors Card holders during the the state's Seniors Festival.

WHETHER you’re enjoying some of the wonderful events on offer locally or travelling to events further afield – I hope you take full advantage of the eight days of free public transport during the Victorian Seniors Festival!

From 5 to 12 October 2025, Victorian Seniors Card holders can access free public transport. This includes travel across all metro services, V/Line train and coach services, and selected regional bus services outside of the myki-enabled area.

And because my Labor Government is on your side, we’re making public transport free for Seniors every weekend.

From 1 January 2026, Victorian Seniors will be able to visit family, enjoy a day out with the grandkids, or experience all our state has to offer – without the extra expense.

More than 650,000 seniors who use public transport will be able to catch a train, tram or bus for free on weekends – saving seniors who travel more than $360 per year.

This will be a huge boost for tourism across regional Victoria and will encourage more people to explore what our state has to offer.

On top of this, we’re also helping cut the cost of living by providing real energy bill relief to those in our community that need it most.

If you have an eligible concession card, you can apply now for the $100 Power Saving Bonus.

The new $100 Power Saving Bonus will ease cost-of-living pressures, make everyday expenses more manageable and support financial security for pensioners and concession card holders in our community.

This Bonus is in addition to the $150 Energy Bill Relief Fund all households will automatically receive from the Commonwealth Government.

To apply for the $100 Power Saving Bonus online, please visit compare.energy.vic.gov.au.

To complete your application, you will need:

A recent residential electricity bill

An eligible concession card (Commonwealth Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card or Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card)

A form of ID (Australian drivers licence, Medicare card, ImmiCard or Australian visa)

If you need any assistance with completing an application for the $100 Power Saving Bonus, please feel most welcome to contact my office on 5443 2144 or at 140 Mollison Street, Bendigo.

My office can also assist with applications for the Victorian Seniors Card, the Seniors Business Discount Card, Victorian Veterans Card and with organising messages for significant birthdays and wedding anniversaries.
