THE list of teams making up the Bendigo Netball League finals series are locked in with a final five of Kangaroo Flat, Sandhurst, Gisborne, South Bendigo and Castlemaine confirmed by round 15 results.

There is still some mystery though, as the top five sides jockey for ladder position, including the Roos and Dragons and mathematically the southern Bulldogs in a race to finish top of the table and earn the first-round bye.

Despite recording a 54-59 away win over bottom of the ladder Golden Square, Kyneton – who had an outside chance of making the five – were essentially eliminated when South Bendigo banked another victory.

The Bloods were playing host to Gisborne and took the win by the slimmest of margins, 37-36.

The Bulldogs’ defence tries to prevent a successful rebound.

Sandhurst kept up the pressure on Kangaroo Flat with another percentage boosting win, this time to Eaglehawk 36-69.

However, it again wasn’t enough to catch the table toping Roos, who hosted and beat Castlemaine 57-38.

Finally, Maryborough took a strong 52-29 win over Strathfieldsaye.

With three weekends in the regular season left, round 16 sees Kangaroo Flat travel to Gisborne, the Dragons welcome Maryborough to QEO, South Bendigo are at Strathfieldsaye, Castlemaine hosts Golden Square, and Eaglehawk head down the highway to Kyneton.
