IT’S another high stakes game for South Bendigo in this Saturday’s thirteenth round of senior footy in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Football Netball League.

After a hard-fought victory against Sandhurst ensured it stayed in the top five, South Bendigo is back at Queen Elizabeth Oval to take on the fourth-placed Kyneton.

The Tigers and Bloods are locked on 7-5 records, but Kyneton has a percentage gap of 23.

A win for the Nathan Horbury-coached South Bendigo will significantly bolster its run for a finals berth.

In round four, the Bloods won 90-87 at Tigerland.

Key players for South Bendigo include Brock Harvey in attack, Michael Herlihy, onballer Liam Byrne, and captain Zac Hare from defence.

The Tigers will be keen to strike back from a 17-point loss at home to Strathfieldsaye.

James Gaff, forward Rhys Magin, Dean Bartop and Harrison Huntley are some of the stars in the Kyneton line-up.

Golden Square is on home turf at Fur Life Oval in Wade Street against Eaglehawk.

The Travis Matheson-coached Hawks are sixth and will be eyeing a massive upset.

Eaglehawk faces a huge task stopping a Bulldogs’ line-up that includes ruckman Matt Compston, Ryan Hartley, key forward Jayden Burke, and Jack Hickman.

Back on the Bulldogs’ home deck, Golden Square and Eaglehawk will go at it for the second time this season.

The Hawks will look to captain Shaun Knott, key defender Oscar Madden, Clayton Holmes and Darcy Richards to lead the way to victory.

Kangaroo Flat is up against a Sandhurst squad desperate to bounce back from consecutive defeats.

The Roos will have home-ground advantage at Dower Park and will look to Nick Lang, Liam Collins, Mitch Rovers and Ryan O’Keefe to have a big impact on the contest.

Key players for the Dragons include ruckman Hamish Hosking, Cobi Maxted, Tanner Nally and Zach Pallpratt.

Strathfieldsaye is back at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane to take on Castlemaine.

The Storm is likely to have too much running and scoring power for the Magpies to hold across four quarters.

Finally, Gisborne takes on Maryborough at Gardiner Reserve.

The Bulldogs won at Castlemaine by a big margin and are likely to do so against another mischief of Magpies.
