THE Western Bulldogs have farewelled Ben Cavarra and Will Hayes after both were not offered contracts for 2022.

The club announced the news late last week, just days after the AFL trade period finished up.

Cavarra arrived at the Dogs through the 2018 AFL National Draft with pick 45.

The 25-year-old played four games as a small forward in his time at the club.

Hayes, 26, also joined the club through the 2018 draft and played nine games in his first year.

However, he could only manage two more for the Dogs and none in 2021.

Bulldogs list manager Sam Power commended the duo on their time at the club.

“On behalf of the Club, I’d like to express our gratitude and appreciation for what Ben and Will brought to our playing group over the last three years,” he said in a statement.

“We wish them all the best for the future.”

The Bulldogs recruited former Hawk Tim O’Brien in the trade period, but lost Lewis Young to Carlton and Patrick Lipinski to Collingwood.
