A SHARE of Lucas Herbert’s winnings on the lucrative LIV circuit will be injected to help the next generation of golfers across the Bendigo region.

For the second year running the Lucas Herbert Golf Scholarship will award some cash to assist talented youngsters from Neangar Park, Bendigo, and Axedale golf clubs.

It’s those three clubs where the-then Ravenswood-based Herbert first played on his way to now being among the best in the world.

He has criss-crossed the globe to tee off at many courses since he joined the pro circuit.

A key player in Team Ripper’s charge to being number one in this year’s LIV series, Herbert will be at the Bendigo Sports Star of the Year function being held on November 7 at Red Energy Arena.

The Bendigo Sports Star of the Year in 2020 and ’21, Herbert was determined to help the next wave of golfers across Bendigo and district to pursue their goals.

The presentation of the scholarships by Herbert includes a chance to hear about the highs and some tough points of this year’s golfing action, plans for ’25 and more.

A brilliant run by Team Ripper included back-to-back LIV Tour wins in Adelaide and Singapore.

The Lucas Herbert Golf scholarship is not just about results, but also based on improvement, dedication to the sport and helping boys and girls achieve goals on the golfing pathway.

Lucas Herbert’s golfing journey began at Neangar Park and included being a Cyril Michelsen Trust Fund recipient in Bendigo’s Sports Star of the Year award in 2010-11.
