Injury heartbreak for Bulldog

LUCKLESS Western Bulldogs midfielder Toby McLean has ruptured the ACL in his right knee in a training mishap on Saturday morning,

Scans confirmed the savage blow for the premiership Bulldog, who only returned from an ACL injury in the same knee in round 14.

The Bulldogs said in a club statement, “The injury occurred during a training session at VU Whitten Oval on Saturday morning.

“McLean will undergo surgery later this week, before beginning his rehabilitation.”

McLean, 25, managed three senior appearances in 2021 before this latest injury setback.

He’s contracted to the Bulldogs until the end of 2022.
