TWO unbeaten teams face-off this Saturday when Marong welcomes Pyramid Hill in round four of the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League’s senior footy season at Malone Park.

After a 15-point victory at John Forbes Oval which ended Mitiamo’s long-running winning streak, Marong has rocketed to premiership favouritism.

The Linton Jacobs-coached Panthers face another big test against a Pyramid Hill line-up which won at Bridgewater in round one, had two weeks rest through a bye and Easter break, and then beat Bears Lagoon Serpentine by 49 points.

Major challenge for the Bulldogs will be stopping a Panthers attack that includes Brandyn Grenfell, Kain Robins, David Johnstone and Adrian Pappin.

A strong Marong team includes Richard Tibbett, Adam Ward, Ben and Corey Gregg, and Nathan Devanny.

Players to watch for the Nathan Fitzpatrick-coached Pyramid Hill include Billy Micevski, Braidy Dickens, Bailey George, Gavin James and Brad Ladson.

After a 0-2 start and bye, Calivil United is back on the Calivil turf to take on Mitiamo.

Key players in a new-look Demons’ squad coached by Jack Daley include Jacob Greenwood, Phil Ryan, Ben Daley, Brock Rogers and Mitch Avard.

Stung by a five-goal loss at home to Inglewood in round one, Calivil United fired up to be within four points of BLS the next round.

A powerful Superoos team includes Lucas Matthews, Doug Thomas, Ryan Wellington, Luke Lougoon and Jack Vinnicombe.

Bears Lagoon Serpentine tackles Bridgewater at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve.

The Bears have a 1-2 record and will need big games from the likes of Ryan Prendergast, Charlie and Harrison Gadsden, Kalem Paxton, Josh Walsh and coach Justin Laird.

Bridgewater beat Inglewood by 73 points and will be confident of consecutive victories.

In-form players for the Rick Ladson-coached Mean Machine include Andy Collins, Harry Donegan, Josh Martyn and Jack Ozanne.

Newbridge and Inglewood do battle at Holloway Air Riverside Park in Newbridge.

The Maroons scored an eight-point win on Maiden Gully YCW’s turf at Marist College in a contest where Harding medallist Harry Whittle, Tyler McLeod, Mitch Hocking, Cameron Grant starred for the Maroons.

Other key players for the Luke Freeman-coached Newbridge include Jordan Formosa, Dylan Lloyd and Corey Van Aken.

Inglewood will be keen to hit back from defeat and mark a 3-1 start.

Stars in the Darrell Billett-coached Blues team include Charlie Ingham, Cody Stobaus, Traiton Kendal, Bregon Cotchett and Alex Lowe.

Maiden Gully YCW has the bye.
