BENDIGO Spirit has hailed a new partnership with Agnico Eagle as the start of a dynamic new collaboration between one of the region’s most respected organisations and one of its most beloved sporting teams.

Agnico Eagle – the parent company of Fosterville Gold Mine – has joined the Spirit as a platinum partner.

The one-year deal will see Agnico Eagle integrated across a wide range of club assets, including uniform branding, broadcast visibility, game day activations, hospitality, and community engagement initiatives.

It also includes a prominent role in the Spirit’s indigenous round, with Agnico Eagle supporting cultural experiences and storytelling that celebrate the Dja Dja Wurrung people and their connection to Country.

Agnico Eagle will also be recognised as a supporting partner of the Spirit Combine, helping to foster pathways for emerging talent and contributing to the development of future stars in women’s basketball.

Spirit general manager Dan Jackson said the partnership reflected the shared values between the club and Agnico Eagle.

“Their commitment to community, excellence and regional pride aligns perfectly with our values,” he said.

“This partnership will not only enhance our game day experience, but also strengthen our connection to the community through meaningful initiatives like the indigenous round and the Spirit Combine.

“We’re excited to work together and deliver a season full of impact both on and off the court.”

Agnico Eagle vice-president Australian operations Ion Hann declared the partnership as a natural fit.

“We’re proud to support a team that represents the heart of regional Victoria and champions women’s sport at the highest level,” he said.

“This partnership allows us to engage with the community in new and exciting ways, and we look forward to being part of the Spirit’s journey this season.”

The Spirit’s title defence got underway last Sunday against Townsville Fire at Red Energy Arena in Bendigo.
