Pioneers trio selected for Vic Country in U18 Champs

Three Bendigo Pioneers players have earned selection for Victoria Country’s opening match in the 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Boys.

Hunter Wright (Golden Square), Cody Walker (Echuca), and Riley Onley (Shepparton United) will pull on the Vic Country jumper when they face Western Australia on Saturday, June 7 at Mineral Resources Park.

The selection reflects the growing strength of the Bendigo Pioneers program, with the trio recognised for their consistent performances throughout the Coates Talent League season.

Wright brings versatility and size, Walker is a composed ball user through the midfield, and Onley provides strong marking ability in defence.

Victoria Country will go on to face South Australia, the Allies, and Victoria Metro across the Championships, with the top team at the end of the round-robin to be crowned national champion.
