SOUTH Bendigo clubmates Ollie Muggleton, Rhys Hansen, Rhys Lias and Jake Hilson will represent Athletics Bendigo at this Saturday’s state relay titles.

The AB young guns will contest the open 4 x 400 meters on the Tom Kelly Athletics Track in Doncaster.

A huge day of relays across various distances and age groups starts at 10.30am with heats of the men’s open 4 x 400 metres will be run from 1.30pm.

The Bendigo team will be vying to qualify for the 2 December final to be run as part of the Zatopek 10 classic at Lakeside Stadium in South Melbourne.

Because of the relays there will be no senior athletics in Bendigo this Saturday.

Athletes will take a break ahead of the sixth round of Athletics Victoria Shield League field and track action to be run at the Retreat Road complex on Friday 1 December.

Another twilight meeting for Bendigo clubs and visitors starts with hammer at 5.30pm.

First of the track events will be 600-metre contests from 6pm.

Other disciplines to be contested are 2000 or 5000-metre walk, 60 meters, mile, 2 x 100 metre relay, high jump, long jump, and discus.

A great battle between Eaglehawk and Diamond Valley to be number one in Premier Division will keep rolling.

In last weekend’s action, Diamond Valley was number one as the Hawks were second.

South Bendigo marked a third placing in Division Two last round as Bendigo Harriers was 10th.

Bendigo University is on the cusp of a top-three berth in fifth division.
