INSIDE midfielder Ethan Roberts and goal shooting ace Ruby Barkmeyer have claimed Kangaroo Flat’s top individual honours for BFNL season 2025.
Roberts, who made his interleague debut for the BFNL against the VAFA in July this year, went one better than last year when he was runner-up, winning the senior best and fairest.
It was a reward for consistency, leadership and continual elite performances in a tough season for the Roos.
Angus Macpherson was the runner-up.

In other senior football awards, Zach Bird won most determined, Aaron Melis claimed the most improved, and Daniel Stagg was crowned most consistent.
Xav Coghill was the Rising Star winner.
In A-grade netball, former Melbourne Vixen Ruby Barkmeyer capped a successful return to Dower Park by winning the best and fairest.
Runner-up to Sandhurst’s Shae Clifford in this season’s Betty Thompson Medal count, Barkmeyer claimed the award ahead of premiership captain and multiple league and club best and fairest winner Chelsea Sartori.

Barkmeyer’s partners in the goal circle, Teal Hocking and Abbey Ryan were respectively judged best in finals and the recipient of the coaches award.
In a big season on the netball court, the Roos won both the A-grade and A-reserve premierships, with midcourter Ella Wicks adding to her Jenni Holborn Medal win as the league’s A-reserve best and fairest by winning the club award.
In club-wide awards, Kate Newman won the best club person award, Andrew Membrey was crowned club champion and Carol Anderson won the president’s award.
