BENDIGO’S unbeaten run in the Bendigo leg of Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields Premier Division bowls will be under threat in Moama this Saturday.

Victorious in all seven matches, Bendigo takes on Moama which is also on a hot streak.

The showdown between the third-placed Steamers and ladder-leading Royals starts at 1.30pm on Moama’s greens.

In last Saturday’s play it was Moama which scored a 24-shot win at Kangaroo Flat as the Steamers won three rinks in a 16-91 to 2-72 result.

Highs for Moama were wins by Cameron Keenan and Kevin Anderson by 13 and nine shots.

It was a closely fought contest between Scottish star Alex Marshall and the Roos’ Greg Podesta.

Marshall ruled the contest 26-21.

A high for the Flat was a 25-17 win for Brad Marron.

Another big match will be at South Bendigo where the second-placed Diggers face the fourth-placed Kangaroo Flat.

In the seventh round South Bendigo won at Inglewood by 30 shots and the biggest margin for the Diggers was a 27-14 win for Liam Crapper.

Bendigo East will aim to follow up a nine-shot win at Eaglehawk by taking the points on home turf against Golden Square.

Best for the Magpies in their win on the Borough’s turf were Paul Vlaeminck and Darren Burgess by 10 and six shots.

The winless Inglewood is at home to play Eaglehawk and it’s a clash between eighth and seventh.

The Kym Schumacher-skipped rink from Eaglehawk won 25-16 in round seven.
