SANDHURST have set up Bendigo Netball League A Grade semi final match up with Kangaroo Flat following the Dragons’ qualifying final win over Gisborne.

Playing on home court at Queen Elizabeth Oval, Sandhurst took a 48-33 win in what was a battle of the second and third place finishers in the regular season.

The Dragons’ victory means they’ll now take on the table topping Kangaroo Flat in this Saturday’s first semi final, with the winner through to the grand final on 17 September.

In elimination final, played on Sunday, Castlemaine dispatched South Bendigo from the post season.

The Magpies got the job done in emphatic circumstances with a 58 to 30 victory.

Counterintuitively, Gisborne and Castlemaine will now meet in the first semi final that’s set for Sunday, with the winner through to the preliminary where the loser of Dragons verses Roos awaits.

Both games will go from 3.20pm and take place at QEO.
