TOP teams Pyramid Hill and Marong do battle in Saturday’s thirteenth round of senior footy in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League.

The Bulldogs’ unbeaten run will be under threat from the Panthers at Pyramid Hill’s Mitchell Park.

When these clubs met in round four it was the Nathan Fitzpatrick Bulldogs who marked an 87-75 win on Marong’s turf.

Defences of both teams will be under extreme pressure.

A classy Bulldogs’ attack includes Bailey George, Steven Gunther, Braidy and Ryley Dickens.

Brandyn Grenfell is the focal point for Marong, as the spearhead has a season tally of 90 goals after he kicked nine in the latest win against Mitiamo.

The Panthers also had Kain Robins, Nathan Devanny and Corey Gregg as multiple goalkickers against the Superoos.

Limit the supply to the Marong forwards is the goal, but Pyramid Hill is the only team to have done so successfully this season.

Mitiamo is at home against Calivil United at John Forbes Oval.

The Superoos will be determined to bounce back from a 16-goal loss at Malone Park, while Calivil United had the bye after an 85-88 loss to Bears Lagoon-Serpentine the previous round.

Key players for the Jack Daley-coached Demons include Phil Ryan, Jacob Greenwood, Corey Pearse and Blair Richards.

Bridgewater meets Bears Lagoon-Serpentine in what could be an elimination final preview.

The Mean Machine will have home-ground advantage as it aims to follow up a 31-point over Inglewood.

Players to watch for Bridgewater include Josh Martyn at full-forward, Andy Collins, Lachlan Allison, Jack Ozanne, Harry Donegan and Callum Prest.

The Bears were held to 2.10 in their home game against Pyramid Hill with Josh Walsh, Zac Stone, Jeremy Hancock and Ryan Prendergast were best in that affair.

It’s another home game for Inglewood as the Blues take on Newbridge and both were beaten in the 12th round.

After such a promising start to the season, Inglewood is now three and eight, but still in the race for a finals berth.

The Blues will look to Charlie Ingham, Thomas Kennedy, Luke Matheson and Charlie McGaw to continue their great form.

Newbridge put in a great final quarter to almost overhaul Maiden Gully YCW in a 55-57 result.

The Maroons had Caleb Sanders, Tyler McLeod, Patrick Andrews and Brandon Etherington star against the Eagles.

Maiden Gully YCW Eagles have the bye.
