Top two clash on Suns’ turf
A CLASH between top teams Sandhurst and Strathdale-Maristians highlights Saturday’s resumption of first XI matches in the Bendigo District Cricket Association season.
The Dylan Gibson-led Sandhurst faces a big challenge in the one-day game on the Suns’ turf at All Seasons Oval in Reservoir Road.
Play hits off at 12.30pm with the Cameron Taylor-captained Suns fighting to keep an unbeaten run rolling.
Another crucial contest will be at Haymes Paint Shop Oval in Golden Square’s Wade Street where the Bulldogs take on Strathfieldsaye in the duel between third and fifth.
Both teams are stacked with plenty of strikepower with bat and ball.
White Hills is on home turf at McDonald’s Oval in Scott Street against Bendigo.
Another defeat would make it incredibly difficult for White Hills to qualify for finals.
Bendigo rolled into the Christmas-New Year break by winning on Golden Square’s ground.
Another vital match will be at Eaglehawk’s Canterbury Park where the Borough takes to National Heating and Cooling Oval against Huntly North Epsom.
The Hawks won their latest hit-out at White Hills by 75 runs as Ben Williams, Linton Jacobs, Josh Williams, Cam McGlashan and Angus Chisholm were key contributors.
The fourth-placed Hawks are being hotly pursued by Kangaroo Flat and Huntly North Epsom.
The Kangaroos make their way to Harry Trott Oval in Kennington to take on Bendigo United.
Flat will be desperate to bounce back after being dismissed for 110 in the round six clash on Sandhurst’s turf at Bendigo District RSL Oval in Weeroona Oval.
