BENDIGO United faces a huge test on Kangaroo Flat’s ground in Saturday’s start to round 10 in Bendigo District Cricket’s first XI action.

After a run of one-dayers, the Redbacks and Roos start a two-day contest at The Dispensary Oval in Kangaroo Flat’s Dower Park at 1pm.

Fires in the Harcourt and Ravenswood region, which started on 9 January, meant the one-day clash between the clubs was not played.

After a 20-run loss at Strathfieldsaye last Saturday, Bendigo United dropped out of the four.

The Harry Donegan-led Redbacks are up against a Kangaroo Flat lineup that includes Jake and Dylan Klemm, Adam and Riley Burns, and Brent Hamblin.

Key players for the Redbacks include Marcus Mangiameli, Jack Kesteven and Miggy Podosky.

Eaglehawk’s victory in the Linc McRae Memorial Match against Huntly North put the Borough on the fourth rung.

The Hawks are home again at National Heating and Cooling Oval in Canterbury Park against Strathfieldsaye.

A highlight for the Hawks in the day-night match against the Power was a century by Angus Chisholm.

In-form players for the Two Blues include Josh and Ben Williams, and Linton and Cory Jacobs.

A big danger to the Hawks is Chathura Damith, who scored 104 in the Jets’ win against Bendigo United.

Strathfieldsaye’s team includes Ben Devanny, Campbell Love, Jack Bell and Savith Weerasinghe.

After being outplayed on Strathdale-Maristians’ ground, Sandhurst returns to Bendigo District RSL Oval in Weeroona Oval to take on Bendigo.

Huntly North faces White Hills at Time Saver Liberty Oval in Huntly’s Strauch Reserve.

Golden Square faces another big challenge against reigning premier Strathdale-Maristians at Wade Street. Suns opening batter Daniel Clohesy struck 158 as the team reached 6-319 off 45 overs against the Dragons.

The Grant Waldron-led Suns have James Vlaeminck, Matt Wilkinson, Will Purcell and James Barri in form.
