VICTORIA Country have gone down to cross-state rivals Victoria Metro on Sunday at RSEA Park, their second loss of the under-18 Girls Championship.

After opening the tournament with a win against the Allies, Country now have a 1-2 record after the 4.6 (30) to 12.8 (80) defeat.

The Bendigo Pioneers were solely represented by Kyneton’s Ella Jeffrey.

Jeffrey, who was listed as one of the followers for Victoria Country, gathered 17 disposals and had two tackles.

For Victoria Metro, Chloe Bown dominated with 35 disposals (eight clearances) and a goal, whilst Bailee Martin snagged seven goals from 15 touches.

Jeffrey is joined on the Victoria Country under-18 list by fellow Pioneer Ava Bibby (Sandhurst).

The Pioneers are 1-9 in the Coates Talent League season, with four rounds to play.

Vic Country have a chance to finish their campaign with a win when they take on South Australia at Thomas Farms Oval in Adelaide on August 10.
