{"id":101857,"date":"2025-01-26T14:38:36","date_gmt":"2025-01-26T03:38:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/news\/cfa-declares-total-fire-ban\/"},"modified":"2025-01-26T15:23:53","modified_gmt":"2025-01-26T04:23:53","slug":"cfa-declares-total-fire-ban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/news\/cfa-declares-total-fire-ban\/","title":{"rendered":"CFA declares total fire ban"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CFA has announced tomorrow, Monday, January 27, to be a day of Total Fire Ban (TFB) for most of Victoria including Central and North Central due to forecast weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow\u2019s conditions are forecast to be hot and dry with temperatures reaching the high 30s to mid 40s with winds of 70-80 kilometres per hour.<\/p>\n<p>The ban means no fire can be lit in the open air or allowed to remain alight from 12.01am to 11.59pm on the day of the Total Fire Ban.<\/p>\n<p>CFA Chief Officer Jason Heffernan said the TFB has been declared due to the expected conditions across the Wimmera, Mallee, South West, Central and North Central<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTomorrow\u2019s conditions will make it difficult for firefighters to suppress a fire should one start,\u201d Heffernan said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re asking people to follow the strict conditions associated with the Total Fire Ban declaration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnderstand how the increased fire risk will impact you and ensure your fire plan covers all possible contingencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Victorians can find out if it is a Total Fire Ban on the CFA website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfa.vic.gov.au\/\">www.cfa.vic.gov.au.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Other sources of information regarding fires includes the VicEmergency App, the VicEmergency website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emergency.vic.gov.au\">www.emergency.vic.gov.au<\/a>, the VicEmergency Hotline on 1800 226 226, or CFA or VicEmergency Twitter or Facebook.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CFA has announced tomorrow, Monday, January 27, to be a day of Total Fire Ban (TFB) for most of Victoria including Central and North Central due to forecast weather conditions.
