IF you’re looking for a fun, value-for-money, accessible family event this weekend, she’ll be apples just thirty minutes drive south of Bendigo on Saturday at the annual Harcourt Apple Fest.<\/p>\n

Held at the Harcourt Leisure Centre in Binghams Road from 10am to 3pm, organisers are expecting a huge amount of market stalls selling artworks, craft items, plants, local produce, food, wine and of course cider!<\/p>\n

They’ve also reported that the festival’s Art Show – which will be judged by La Trobe University Bendigo Visual Arts Centre managing curator Paul Northam – has received well over 100 adult entries and around 30 children’s.<\/p>\n

Rides and other events including ferret racing, laser tag, a magic show, apple pie eating contest and baking competition begin at 10am.<\/p>\n

There’s even a regal element to the day with King Jonathon, Lady William (locals Bonnie and Remy) and Granny Smith (Kaye Francis) mixing with the crowd and handing out the fruit.<\/p>\n

Festival spokesperson Alison Curtis said this year attendees can look forward to a “bigger and better” festival while maintaining its traditional family friendly feel.<\/p>\n

“I personally have never seen ferret racing nor involved myself with laser tag so I’m looking forward to new adventures,” she said.<\/p>\n

“I might (also) put my hand up to try apple pie baking as well as enjoy what’s on stage throughout the day.”<\/p>\n

Harcourt Applefest 2025 takes place on Saturday at the Harcourt Leisure Centre in Binghams Road from 10am to 3pm.<\/p>\n
