A PUBLIC forum taking place as part of the upcoming National Trust Australian Heritage Festival will consider how innovative technology can be used to document heritage for our future generations.<\/p>\n
Organised by members of the Greater Bendigo Heritage Advisory Committee, From Pick to Pixel: Unearthing Bendigo’s Tech Heritage will be held at Dja Dja Wurrung’s new community centre, Larnangurrak, in Golden Square.<\/p>\n
The forum will discuss 3D laser scanning techniques and digital tools helping to document and preserve Bendigo’s heritage, how heritage inspires new generations and enriches communities, as well as provide an update on the Victorian Goldfields World Heritage Listing bid.<\/p>\n
COGB Manager Strategic Planning Anthony Petherbridge said the meeting is open to residents, businesses and visitors with a keen interest in heritage and its place in the 21st century in Greater Bendigo.<\/p>\n
“The forum has been designed to be fast paced, featuring short presentations from local experts about the new technology being used to help preserve Greater Bendigo’s heritage, combining heritage and sustainability, and the addition of the Victorian Goldfields to Australia’s World Heritage Tentative List,” he said.<\/p>\n
“(It) offers a rare opportunity for discovery, discussion, and connection. Whether you are passionate about heritage and history, fascinated by technology, or simply curious, this event promises to inspire and engage.”<\/p>\n
From Pick to Pixel: Unearthing Bendigo’s Tech Heritage takes place at Larnangurrak in Hattam Street Golden Square on Thursday 8 May.<\/p>\n
