AFTER touring venues around Australia for almost fifty years, iconic Australian musician Russell Morris is embarking on his national Farewell Tour of Australia.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by his 13-piece All Star Band, he will perform at Bendigo’s Ulumbarra Theatre on 31 July.<\/p>\n

Morris will perform favourites, including Hush, Sweet Sweet Love and Wings of an Eagle, as well as songs from his record-breaking, platinum album Sharkmouth.<\/p>\n

The album became his most successful and won him the 2013 ARIA Award for best Blues and Roots Album.<\/p>\n

Morris began his career at 18.<\/p>\n

During the late 1960s and early 1970s, the singer, songwriter and guitarist had five Top 10 Australian singles.<\/p>\n

He was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2008.<\/p>\n

In April, Morris released a farewell single, End Of The Beginning, a tribute to his fans.<\/p>\n

Morris said it is not a goodbye but a celebration of the journey they have shared together.<\/p>\n

“I’m not built for the repetitive; it’s like circling the drain, and I refuse to let that be my story,” he said.<\/p>\n

“So, we’ve crafted this tour as a kind of farewell, a grand send-off to this chapter.<\/p>\n

“Is it the last shows? Who can say for sure? Life’s unpredictable, and I’m not one for absolutes.<\/p>\n

“But right now, it feels like it could be.<\/p>\n

“One thing’s certain: no more endless rounds of clubs, pubs, or RSLs.<\/p>\n

“Maybe a rare one-off gig down the line, if the stars align. For now, though, this is my way of closing the loop. Not the end of my music, but the end of the beginning. “A pivot, not a full stop.”<\/p>\n
