FANS of Michael Crawford, the original Phantom of the Opera, are invited to Phantom: a tribute to Michael Crawford at the Capital Theatre on Saturday 4 October.<\/p>\n

The show will feature songs from Crawford’s hit stage musicals and multi-platinum recordings, including The Music of the Night and The Phantom of the Opera.<\/p>\n

For Bendigo performer Keith McNamara, the show is the realisation of a childhood dream.<\/p>\n

McNamara first began singing along to Crawford’s recordings and has gone on to perform in more than 20 stage musicals.<\/p>\n

He is thrilled to bring his tour home to Bendigo.<\/p>\n

“We will tour the show through Victoria this year, then take it around the country in 2026,” he said.<\/p>\n

“This is the show I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid, Michael Crawford was my first musical hero, and I can’t wait to sing his wonderful songs in my hometown theatre.”<\/p>\n

The show will feature a special guest performance by the Bendigo Primary School choir.<\/p>\n

Australian audiences may remember Crawford for his performance as the accident-prone Frank Spencer in Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em.<\/p>\n

He followed with a Tony award winning performance in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s original Phantom of the Opera, demonstrating his powerful singing voice and launching his international career.<\/p>\n
