EAGLEHAWK’S chase for back-to-back premier division titles in Athletics Victoria’s Shield League field and track action starts this Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Hawks will be out in force when first events are run from 1.30pm at Lar Birpa in Flora Hill’s Retreat Road.<\/p>\n

Track events will be 100m, 400m, 1500m, 3000m and 5000m run, 4 x 100m relay, sprint hurdles, 1500m or 3000m walk.<\/p>\n

Field disciplines will be javelin, shot put, pole vault, and triple jump.<\/p>\n

Eaglehawk soared to glory in the top flight last season against metro powers Diamond Valley, Essendon and Glenhuntly.<\/p>\n

Athletes can compete in as many events as they choose to.<\/p>\n

The Hawks’ versatility is a key where best scores from an athletes three events and a relay are added to the team’s tally.<\/p>\n

Athletes to watch in the Two Blues squad include reigning League MVP Catherine Monahan, Cooper Richardson, Olivia and Craig Graham, and Dave Chisholm.<\/p>\n

The Borough’s squad includes four-time Paralympian Tim Sullivan, long-time coach and competitor Terry Hicks, Fletch Watchman, Mila Childs, Cameron Greenwood, Jorja Morrison, the McIntosh and McQueen siblings.<\/p>\n

South Bendigo will be aiming to climb from last season’s seventh placing in premier division.<\/p>\n

The Bloods’ squad includes Jasper Seymour, Jordyn Lewis, Tyler Fynch, Carol Coad, Joan Self, Luke Edgley, the Hilson and Norton clans.<\/p>\n

South Bendigo is also the home club of multiple national open shot put champion Emma Berg.<\/p>\n

Bendigo Harriers were sixth in division three last season.<\/p>\n

The Harriers’ squad includes Tiffany Bussem-Jorgensen, Lachlan Carr, Jenna Gaskell, Hunter Gill, Geoff Jordan, Neil Shaw, and Rebecca Soulsby.<\/p>\n

A squad in green and gold includes the Clarke, Cooper, Evans and Marron families.<\/p>\n

Echuca-Moama moves up to division four.<\/p>\n

The squad in green and white includes Harrison Sly, Hannah and Quinn Downward, Benji Carfoot, Georgina Farrell, Ivy Walker,<\/p>\n

Bendigo University will be determined to climb from last season’s sixth placing in division five.<\/p>\n

One of Athletics Bendigo’s region’s strongest in cross-country, Uni. Pride is keen to see more compete in field and track.<\/p>\n
